Archail is a small rural commune in the Upper Bléone region, which has long been devoted to livestock farming and pastoral life. Its landscape, characterised by the eroded hills of ‘black earth’, bears witness to a mountainous region shaped by water and the passage of time.
Geography & setting
The village nestles in a wooded valley at an altitude of around 920 metres, accessed via the small road linking Marcoux to Draix, in the heart of the black marl landscape characteristic of the Upper Bléone.
