History & heritage
Once a trading town on the route linking Provence to Piedmont, Annot has preserved an old town with cobbled streets, vaulted passageways and 15th–17th-century houses adorned with carved lintels. The arrival of the Provence railway at the end of the 19th century opened up the Vaïre Valley to tourism.
